In the beginning

Carol Benton was an amazing mother and wife who found success with everything she did. From business ownership to volunteer work, Carol’s passion, dedication, and drive were unmatched. She absolutely loved children - especially her sons Luke and Davis - and opened her heart to any child in need.

Sadly, Carol’s life took an unexpected turn after she suffered a seizure in January 2013. That day, we discovered the tumor on the right side of her brain next to her motor skills. Heartbreakingly, it was cancer. We knew the road ahead would be difficult, but in true Carol fashion, she spent her treatment and recovery days focused on the needs of her family and friends. In August of 2014, after two brain surgeries and 20 months of fighting like a rockstar, Carol went on to the blissful love and warmth of our Lord and Savior.

As a family, we believe God has a reason for all things. We are not meant to always understand those reasons, but we must walk in faith and accept that His will is always for our good. That is the most powerful way we can further His mission of bringing those around us closer to Him.

At Carol’s celebration of life, more than two dozen people accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord. Her passion gave us the opportunity to create the God’s Perfect Plans Foundation in her honor. Since then, Carol’s boys have hand-delivered over $100,000 to families whose children have been diagnosed with cancer.

We could not have started this foundation without the amazing love of our friends and family. They have reached deep in their pockets, generously given their time, and offered their unfailing support. Because of fundraisers held by our friends, we are able to keep giving to those in need. Those friends are truly part of our family.

The annual summer golf tournament is the foundation’s largest fundraiser. It is our sincere hope that you will join us for the tournament, sponsor the event, or donate to the foundation.

A vision for the future

Our goal for God’s Perfect Plans is to give as much as we possibly can. Maybe we cannot eliminate the devastation this terrible disease causes, but we can help alleviate some of the financial pressures families face as their child fights cancer. This year we plan to give $10,000 to families once again.

On behalf of the entire foundation, thank you for your support as we work toward this goal. We hope to see you at the next tournament!
